Yesterday I went out into the pouring rain with the intention to go to Fright night with my friends. I met lily at the lansdowne skytrain station along with selina and her friends devin, kevin, james and arthur. Lily was wearing a playboy bunny outfit for some inexplicable reason. It was alright because I was wearing my nurse costume so we both looked like idiots.
It was raining so hard outside, we kept debating whether to even go to PNE or not. I voted for a movie in Vancouver and see Saw 6 but no one wanted to see a horror movie and be scarred for life.
We waited for Q to come meet us and just stood around, chatting outside a Chinese restaurant. was fun, so many laughs! The employees hated us hanging there and were probably looking for security.
It stopped raining after a bit and then we all took the skytrain downtown. I had NO idea we were even going to playland still. I was almost positive we were watching a movie. I only picked up on it when we were standing outside the Fright Night entrance and then that's when I went 'So we AREN'T watching Saw 6?'
After we paid to go in (fee was $30) we got bag checked. The security dude rummaged through my purse, opening all of the tiny compartments for drugs/booze. If I really wanted to take illegal substances inside, it would have been so easy to hide them in my boots or jacket or something. After that, I got groped by a female guard who was doing body checks.
First ride we went on was Crazy Beach party. normally I do this ride last because it makes me extremely nauseous and dizzy. But it wasn't too bad this time and I didn't feel a need to projectile vomit all over everyone
Pictures from the fright night festival~
80% of these photos had been retouched in the Picasa program. Reason was because every single picture was too dark, even with flash on.
Me prior to going out. Excuse the stupid look on my face.
So shiny!
I just realized! Selina and Q didn't go on a single ride or haunted house!
Talk about a depressing way to waste money.
Q couldn't go on any because his doctor advised him not to.
Hmmm pregnant?
A haunted house with clowns inside! We didn't go in b/c arthur thought it looked lame. ):
There would be actors/employees dressed up as monsters or dead people running around!
So even if you're not going in any haunted houses, you'll still be scared!
In the photograph above, those are clowns running around.
I'm not scared of clowns (what an stupid fear) and told the little one she looked adorable!
The worst was when this woman dressed in scrubs with white powder and blood all over her snuck up behind me and whispered in my ear. I almost lost my shit right there.
This was a horror themed restaurant stand. Blood and guts, severed heads and torn limbs.
A little ironic since we were hungry and looking for somewhere to eat.
One of the haunted houses we went inside. The others refused to even come near it so it was just Arthur, James, Kevin and me.
My way to surviving through haunted houses is to yell at all the actors (Hi! You're doing a great job! Wassup!) and cover my face partially with my hand and sing songs (Run this town).
The best way to not be scared is to go first. When I walked past a corner, the photograph behind me slid open and an actor lunged out at my friends. They freaked out but I didn't see what happened.
One horrible part of the haunted house was when we had to push through hanging dead bodies. They were probably made of rubber but the sensation was absolutely disgusting.
But it wasn't too bad actually!
When we got out of the maze, I started getting really paranoid and thought that I was going to be scared again. I screamed when James snuck up on me
Arthur, James and Kevin
This is a graveyard path leading to another haunted house. We had to debate with lily for about 20 mins until she would even THINK about going inside the place.
She didn't even see shit, she buried her face in Q's jacket and then lily said that she was so scared after. Like wtf.. you didn't see anything man!
Once, arthur pushed me towards a statue of a ghost. The 'ghost' then leaped up and started chasing me. =(
I hate it when the actors are just standing there holding knives or axes and staring at you. Creepy as fuck..
An actor standing outside the entrance. He scared me three times.
Hair uber messed, cold and nerves on high alert but still having a good time.
While my friends went on the Pirate ship, Kevin and me watched a theatrical show instead.
There was this guy performing and he took a condom and put it through his nose and then threaded it through the other side. Sooo disgusting! I didn't get what was so funny, I thought it was more gross instead.
Then he took off this pants and only wearing boxers, he put a cinderblock on his balls and then his brother broke it with a sledgehammer.
The things actors do for a laugh from the audience.
The fairground closed at midnight and that's when we left.
We lined up for the bus and chatted. I was freaking out because I had no change for the bus but when it came, everyone just went in through the back so it didn't even matter.
We were supposed to get out waterfront but we missed the stop and had to walk to the nearest skytrain station. No one was checking tickets either there.
We did magic card tricks and palyed big2 on the train.
We got out at lansdowne and we were going to go for 1 am hotpot. But we didn't find any restaurants that we liked so we just ended outside in the cold, chatting.
Arthur called his dad at 2 am to drive the 8 of us home. so nice! I learned that Q only lives down the street from me, how very creepy.
I reached home at 2:30 and fell asleep for 10 hours.
