2012 movie and conspiracy

outing from quite a while ago.

couple failed attempts at showing off my hair.

at the bank, jasper's withdrawing some money.
saw this BIG mirror here. What else to do but cam whore??

lily and her bf. he's sweet and cute but an idiot.

jasper got like $200 from the ATM. we asked if he pulled a bank job or something.
he had 19 THOUSAND in the bank! wtf sell drugs much?

We tried to find a bus to take us to the movie theater but there were none!!!
So instead we took a freaking taxi that costed 20 bucks when we got there.
Jasper paid but it was such a waste of money.. we could have bought something else

inside of taxi. Indian driver made jokes about 2012 and asians.

The showing of 2012 was all sold out so we bought tickets at a later time, 10 pm. that means it would finish at 1 am!
we should have seen something else but lily insisted on this movie.

inside old spaghetti factory.
I hate spaghetti, what are we doing here?

The 2012 movie was in one word: AWESOME.
I was just sitting there thinking 'epicepicepicepicepicomgsofreakingepicepicepic'
Seriously I was out of words to describe how insane this movie was!
I lost track how many times I said 'OH SHIT' during the film!

The movie didn't describe much how the world started ending in much detail. So while it was an epic film, it left a lot of doubts as to whether it would actually happen or not.

There was humor, romance, FREAKING AMAZING GRAPHICS, good acting and a bit of boring technological stuff for the skeptics.
The roads were rippling, skyscrapers collapsing, trains running off into a chasm, earthquakes and cracks appearing everywhere and about 6893649 close calls with death.

But really, I don't believe in all this 2012 conspiracy nonsense. It was a great movie, but not something that would make me obsess over the end of the world.
Why I don't believe:
One of several Mayan calendars is the Long Count calendar, which is reset to day 0 every 1,872,000 days or 7057.5 years. The next reset date, by some calculations, is December 21, 2012. This is not a prediction of the end of the world.

These predictions are scare tactics, conspiracy theories, and chances to make money from books and movies.

Ever since the Y2K and 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenarios did not pan out, the scare mongers, conspiracy theorists, book sellers, and television executives have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.

"But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33)

Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.

The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.

The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus' advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.

Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. And if all fails, pray and beg for mercy. But he won't listen to you. Haha.
