Euphoria Eye Looks || Maddy Perez

I know I am not the only one who fell in love with HBO's Euphoria television show over the summer. It is an adaptation of an Israeli mini-series which premiered in 2012. HBO's Euphoria is created and written by Sam Levinson and stars Zendaya (Shake it Up and Spiderman fame), Hunter Schafer (model and trans activist), Alexa Demie and Barbie Ferreira.

First up:

NORVINA Too Many Palettes? || Anastasia Beverly Hills

Anastasia Beverly Hills's president Norvina Soare had just launched back to back collections of ABH x Alyssa Edwards ('Backrolls?') followed closely by ABH x Jackie Aina. With barely a moment to breath in between collaborations, Norvina Pro Palette Vol. 1 was quickly launched.
Followed by Norvina Pro Palette Vol. 2.
And then again followed by Norvina Pro Palette Vol. 3.

I wonder why a powerhouse like  Anastasia Beverly Hills is churning out palettes so quickly? They seem to be following Colorpop's model of new releases every week, which can get overwhelming at times. But unlike Colorpop, which has a lower price point so its consumers can justify the purchase, ABH palettes retail for a whopping $60 USD.

ABH Norvina Vol. 1

ABH Norvina Vol. 2
ABH Norvina Vol. 3, releases Sept 26 2019.

The palettes look absolutely beautiful and swatches seem to be holding up well to ABH standards. For a casual consumer, the palettes might seem fun and a good investment in their beauty kit, with so many colorful and quality pigments. However, for other consumers who have already built up their collection of eye shadows, they may want to give this collection a miss. It's also the fact that the palettes are rolling out so quickly with barely weeks in between releases. Perhaps Norvina wanted to corner the market before the holiday season. I think it's better to let your customers breath in between eye shadow palette releases, to help build up the hype.

Will you be purchasing any of the ABH palettes this season?

Review: Covergirl LashBlast (Original, Waterproof and Fusion)

I bet you bitches thought I was dead! (:

Nope, just took a loooong vacation from blogging. I have absolutely no excuses for not writing for so long. No convenient explanation, no cute coverup. Just call me a lazy dumbbutt, forgive me and lets move on!

(You don't have a reason for a month of laziness?)
No, shut up foo'!

This is a review on Covergirl LashBlast Mascara- Original, Waterproof and Fusion.
Y'all know what the products look like, they have been around forever and are considered mascara 'cult classics'.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicqhcVAusVGsKulwIx_QowjPd8hfeZs7Efco2RpNSAKiQJVrgmdVP0u2ZEzaH-qFsUGXGnsw3PX0F5O7GALGgQbl4_zCcCSdgtpZdPBdnstwi8d_LbXiC5XO0xmBbzHN0swpeaHTPFvUhG/s320/drew.jpg

My thin little Asian lashes. Sparse, thin and short to boot!

 With two coats of mascara.

Covergirl LashBlast (original):
It's a lovely mascara that does great at volumizing, providing length and separating the lashes. I love how thick and lush my lashes look after applying this, however too many coats will leave them clumpy and heavy and a little crunchy. Yum!

The length is decent, good for those who just want a little more elongation. As for me, I love the butterfly falsies look, so this doesn't quite cut it for me. This mascara NEVER smudges on me, which (trust me) is saying a lot. I have oily lids and my eyes tend to water a lot; at one point in life I got so tired of raccoon eyes that I stopped wearing mascara for a YEAR When curled, it holds the curl nicely. I'm not a huge fan of the giant barrel brush; my eyes are pretty small and it's difficult to reach the small lashes at the ends... and getting the ones at the bottom require an surgeon's steady hand to apply.

Covergirl LashBlast (waterproof):
Almost identical to the original except it holds a better curl and is difficult to remove.

http://www.hellobeautyblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Covergirl_Lash_Blast_Fusion_tube_brush.jpg

Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion:
This mascara is claims to provide both length and volume, hence the FUSION. This mascara gives crazy length! I find it provides almost double the length the original LashBlast gave me. And if I keep layering on coats, I get mile long Betty Boop flutterlashes. With that in mind, I have to say this product gives very little volume, by little I mean almost none. I find that it tints my lashes darker and provides a little thickness, but that's it. No wonder I can keep applying coats without it getting hard.

I like this mascara for a really pretty, natural look. It's hard to tell I'm wearing mascara unless it's on close inspection and they still feel soft and fluttery. The formula seems a dryer than the original LashBlast so it wouldn't have a very long life. Due to it's dry formula, the lower lashes are easily reached. This mascara doesn't hold a curl as well as the original mascara.

Last thoughts? : When I layer these two mascaras on top of each other, I get the perfect blend of length and volume (probably what the Fusion mascara was supposed to be like). I don't do this all the time though, I'm more of a two-swipes-of-mascara-and-I'm-out-the-door kinda girl. I'm not loving the chunky packaging OR the bright highlighter colours (although Fusion is more toned down) OR the giant barrel brush, but it's what's inside that counts right?

In 4 words or less:
LashBlast: Volume and some length
Waterproof: Hard to wash off
Fusion: Length but little volume

All are pretty rockin'

Beauty and Makeup Annoyances!

Beauty and Makeup Annoyances!

http://www.clear-information-on-acne.com/images/iStock_000003710704XSmallmakeupspilledwithbrush.jpg

These are annoying beauty related things that grind my gears.

- People who give a bad review to a product after trying it once
- Young girls who wear intensive anti wrinkle creams when they don't need it yet
- When winged eyeliner are not even
- Sharpie eyebrows
- When an amazing product is discontinued
- Foundation oxidizing and turning orange
- False eyelashes that look like centipedes
- Circle lens that look weird, instead of mesmerizing and beautiful
- Mascara commericals that swear no falsies have been added. MY ASS.
- Being unable to find your foundation shade
- Lashes falling out after washing face
- Those who run out and get 2 backups of something after first use
- Beauty gurus who refuse to branch out from M.A.C. aka "MAC drones"
- Mascara that require nothing short of a sledgehammer to remove
- When hair gets stuck to lipgloss
- Lipstick stains on teeth
- Messing up new manicures because the polish is still 'soft'

And finally... girls who cover up their gorgeous face instead enhancing their beauty! (:

ARGHHH!

E.L.F. haul + pro review yo

I received this package more than a week ago.. I was hoping for more mail so I could present it all at once. But SADLY NO. My mailbox is unfortunately devoid of love packages, swap mail and university news. So I must make due with what I have~ but I'm expecting a HUGE package from Maybelline which some have received already ^~* That's all I'm gonna say for now, stay tuned for more!

My rockin package from my girl S (:
Inside... is ALL E.L.F. products! I really wanted to try the brand haha.

E.L.F. Waterproof Eyeliner Pen
E.L.F. Clarifying Powder in Honey and Spice
E.L.F. All over Coverstick in Beige
E.L.F. Brightening Eyeliner in Black
E.L.F. Eye Widener

Left to right: Brightening Liner, Eye Widener, Waterproof Pen (one stroke), Waterproof Pen (multiple strokes)

The Brightening Liner wasn't bad, I don't know why it was called 'brightening' because it just seems like a normal black eyeliner. The tip was tough and hard on the skin until I wore it down on my hand, then it had no problem gliding smoothly over my lids. The pigmentation wasn't much for this liner, so those looking for a nice bold, dramatic line should look elsewhere. I noticed that it would smudge after a few hours and the colour didn't seem to last that long.

I chose the Eye Widener because I was looking for a white eyeliner with nice pigmentation to give my eyes a POP but I was disappointed with this product. First of all, the liner is incredibly tough to apply. A simple stroke does not grant you enough colour so you'd have to retrace the line until it's properly built up. And the tip of the pencil was so stiff and hard that you could rub your skin raw just trying to get some product on! It did not even last an hour.. I swatched it on my arm (above) and when it rubbed against my sleeve, it came right off. This liner does not rock.

The Waterproof Pen was a great product to use (: It reminded me so much of a Sharpie- with the pen-like packaging, felt tip (though thinner) and the thick bold line that resulted from just a light stroke. This liquid liner had great pigmentation and the applicator is SO simple to use, even I had no problem doing a winged look. Waterproof Pen is is stated waterproof (XD) but half of it came off with a wash. So not the longest lasting liquid pen around.

This was my arm 2 days later, after washing it off with normal soap and water. As you can see, there is still a imprint on my skin from the eyeliner! The white liner is long gone but the waterproof pen held on for days.

The E.L.F. Coverstick on my skin. As you can see, it's not my correct shade (I think it's off by one) but I can tell it provides nice medium coverage for the skin and it blends easily. When I first swatched it I thought 'Oh my goodness this is orange!' but when you work it into your skin it doesn't appear anymore.
I can't give a better review than this because this was the wrong shade for me. I would repurchase this but it doesn't seem like any of the other colours would suit me either.

E.L.F. Clarifying Pressed Powder. I like this product, I rock it everyday ^^ After foundation, I lightly dust it over the areas that get shiny after a few hours (nose and the area around it, forehead and cupid bow) and my face stays oil-free ALL DAY! It provides good coverage but the pigmentation isn't very high. The packaging is terrible, it's cheap and made of plastic and the little sponge that comes with it is useless. But hey, it's only a dollar (:

Christmas Gift Ideas for Teenage Girls

Christmas Gift Ideas for Teenage Girls

Being a girl, these are presents that I would love to receive/think other girls would like to receive. Every girl's tastes are different so I tried to include a large variety.

Expensive

Hair Straightener

Any girl with long hair may want to straighten their locks once in a while to give themselves a different look or to tame their rebellious hair. There are many different Straighteners out on the market, but these flat irons are the best hands down.
BaByliss PRO Nano Titanium, CHI Ceramic, Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Ion, Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline, HAI Convertable Ceramic and GHD MK4 Ceramic. *According to Allure magazine.

These Straighteners will range from $100 to over $250 dollars. But if you buy a top quality one, they should last you for many years!

iPod

Who DOESN'T own an iPod nowadays? My aunt, my grandma and probably that hobo down the street owns at least one of iPods. Why not get the girl in your life the newest iPod nano (5th generation) in her favorite color? To make it extra special, engrave something nice on it (her name, song lyric or quote) and make it personalized just for her!

Tiffany Jewelery

Gorgeous.. Every girl secretly wants a jewelery piece of Tiffany's, whether it's a bracelet, necklace, earrings or ring. Their diamonds are flawlessly cut and their silver is of the highest quality. Girls feel like a million bucks when wearing a piece of Tiffany's and it's so easy to find the perfect jewelery for her since they have a large variety.

A necklace with a tiny little charm for those who don't want something that flashy.

Travel-sized Makeup Pallets

For the girl who is into collecting all the newest department store makeup pallets... now you can add to her ever-growing collection!
Department store brands is advised and the colours should be well-pigmented and a gorgeous shade.
Chanel, Dior, Shisendo, Estee Lauder, Elizabeth Arden, Clinque, Lancome, Nars is recommended.

Clutch/wristlets
Girls can be quite picky about their purses but you can hardly go wrong with a little trendy bag from their favorite brand.
Some good quality (and by that I mean stylish) brands are Juicy, Coach, Gucci, GUESS, Marc Jacobs, Nine West, etc. You shouldn't go too expensive in case you choose the wrong style and your girl doesn't like it.

Perfume
Every person's nose is different so they have have different tastes in scent compared to you. But when in doubt, go for the biggest and prettiest bottle!

Inexpensive
Not everything has to be marked up, brand name merchandise to make your girl happy! Here are some ideas that's a little easier on the wallet.

Coastal Scents Pallet
For the makeup lover/artist/fanatic in her, this is an absolute must-have! These colour pallets are high in pigment, come in a huge variety, are dirt cheap and can last for years.
My friends have this and there's barely a dent in it after using it for a whole year!

Coastal Scents 88 pallet/Warm.
There's also one that comes in shimmer!
Left pallet is $20, the warm pallet is $25. What a steal.

Favorite Movie/TV show

There's so much entertainment on the big and little screen right now (Thank you, Hollywood!) so get her favorite show or film so she can re-watch all her fav scenes!
Some popular suggestions for 2009 are Glee, The Dark Knight, 90210, Gossip Girl, The Hills, Bruno, Inglorious Basterds, Twilight, Transformers, The Proposal, Slumdog Millionaire, He's Just Not that Into You, Project Runway, House M.D, One Tree Hill, Bones, The Simpsons and True Blood.

Personalized Jewelery

A simple necklace with their initial on it or a charm bracelet with charms reflecting their personality is a great gift for your girl. Some stores may let you do some jewelry engraving for a fee.

*Edit, I tried to include a large variety, but all I ended up with were girly products.
Maybe I should make another list as well.
