Fashion Trends that are IN/OUT

Fashion Trends that are IN/OUT

These are trends that I've noticed being worn around my city or at school that I absolutely LOVE or HATE. Just my opinion, don't come after me.

LOVE YES

Leggings/tights

YES. Even when it's paired with jean skirt and converse!
They have the flawless ability to dress up or down a dress or unskankify a potentially slutty outfit.
LOVE tights. They have many different versions such as liquid, jean, pattern, tattoo, ripped and lace.

Plaid

Hot new trend. Bring a little country chic to your every day outfit ;) A great way to add a little POP in your clothing by wearing a cute patterned piece.
A plaid shirtdress seems to be the most versatile piece to be incorporated into daily wear.

Designer Jeans

For those who don't mind spending a money on quality denim to look extra fashionable. The perfect pair of jeans would flatter the bum, accentuate the legs, feel comfortable and have a nice logo without being too flashy.
Great brands would be True Religion, Rock and Republic, Levis, William Rast and more.

Ankle Booties

This is one trend I hope stays. They are so easy to wear and comfortable! Wear them with short skirts, skinny jeans, tights or a dress! Ankle booties unfortunately makes the leg shorter so most of them come with a sexy heel.

Over the Knee Boots

One of the biggest trends this year are OTK boots. They are super sexy and make your legs seem to go on for miles..
Wear them with a short dress, tights or over jeans! The best OTK boots are in suede, go slightly over the knee and can be folded over to transform into knee high boots (:

Super huge or mega tiny bags

http://thetrendsetter.files.wordpress.com/2008/02/oversized-white-bags-trend.jpg

Large bags: So versatile and roomy! You could carry your whole life in that thing. Phone, documents, makeup, extra clothing, food.. it holds everything! And toting a huge bag around would make you seem smaller and skinnier in comparison =D

Small bags: So dainty and lady like! And let's face it, the large purses get really heavy sometimes. A small purse is only used for holding the essentials for the women. Keys, phone, debit card is all you need (or can fit) in the bag ^^

High Waisted skirts

They have the ability to completely flatter your body by accentuating your legs and your waist! The shirt or tank top that is being tucked into the skirt should be plain as to not draw attention away from the skirt.

Oversized Bow headbands

A la Blair Waldorf from the hit show Gossip Girl. :D This trend has mostly died out since the character has stopped donning her signature headbands but I still like it. ^^
Forever 21 or TopShop sells some nice bow headbands that imitate this style.

Leather Jackets

Leather jackets are fun, edgy and versatile! Wear it to dress up an simple outfit with jeans or make a glam dress more causal.
To get that 'rocker chic' look, pair the jacket with a metallic tank with ripped jeans and sexy heels or boots and sunglasses.

Bandage Dresses

The newest fad in hollywood, it seems like every celebrity is rocking one of these dresses by Herve Ledger. Everyone can wear a bandage dress. They are made specifically to accentuate curves, slim down the body and holds down body fat. The best thing about the bandage dress is the way it's layered. The material is cut into strips and sewn in layers to create the illusion of a flattened stomach and hips.

HATE NO

Crocs

http://www.babble.com/CS/blogs/strollerderby/2008/07/23-End%20of%20Month/crocs%20suck.JPG

Hideous shoes with revolting neon colours to match, these things are disgusting. Crocs flatter no one and any glam piece of clothing it's paired with instantly goes down a notch. Apparently the comfort makes up for this ugly eyecandy. They'd better feel like marshmallows, silk and cashmere because I cannot think of one reason why anyone would wear them.

Ed Hardy

http://mousemakingsushi.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/jongosselindoucheness.jpg

Not only are they expensive, gaudy and unsightly, it also gives people the impression that a rainbow threw up on you after eating a meal consisting of glitter particles and shimmer makeup. The tattoos the apparel is based off makes no sense (Love kills slowly??) and I couldn't think of anyone who would tattoo that on their body.
And it isn't always the case but... everytime I talk to anyone wearing Ed Hardy, they almost always turn out to be a douchebag. It's kinda like their uniform.

Touch Screen Gadgets

http://www.geeky-gadgets.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/lovely-star-touchscreen-pmp_1.jpg

It's probably just me but I hate every piece of electronic with a touch screen on it. While playing with my friend's iTouch or Nokia phone, I noticed that it only responds to my touch 30% of the time. Then I have to jab at the stupid screen over and over again while still being gentle as to not 'scratch the delicate screen'.
I don't get the fad with touch screens. Yay you can tap on a screen. I hope you enjoy the smudgy, greasy fingerprints that will inevitably result after 45 seconds of usage.
This is why I have a Blackberry. It involves a long lost piece of technology called BUTTONS. This how I can text when I'm not looking and can actually feel for the places to press. I want to see someone with an iPhone text quickly and confidently without looking back once.

Shutter Shades

Yes, they look rad! Yes, Kanye wore them in 'Stronger'!
But they do not protect your eyes from UV rays and they block around 50% of your vision due to the blinds.
They may be fun to play around with and cam whore with and maybe wear to a party. But the trend is already dying out. Even Kanye West has stopped wearing his.
